Fuel line/hoses, replacing
Warning! Protective gloves and protective goggles must be worn for the following operations. This is due to the risk of fuel spillage.
Removing fuel line
- Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel pump
- Remove the pipe olive and the nut
- Remove the cargo compartment carpet. Remove the rear floor hatch. Fold up the front floor hatch
- Remove the inspection hatch over the fuel tank unit
- Disconnect and pull up the fuel hose from the fuel tank
- Carefully remove the hose.
Installing the fuel line
- Leave the blind cover plug on the end of the fuel line running under the car. Insert the fuel line (1) between the floor and fuel tank as far as it will go
- Raise the car and pull the fuel line forward. Use a welding rod or similar to help
- Lower the car
- Inset the fuel line (2) in the fuel tank. Press the hose into place on the connector nipple.
Reinstall the inspection hatch over the fuel tank unit.
Reinstall the floor carpet and the floor hatches.
Route the fuel line through the holder (1) to the heater.
Note! The fuel line (3) must not be in contact with the engine coolant hose (4).
Adjust the length of the fuel line. Thread on nut (1) and pipe olive (2) on the fuel line. Ensure that the pipe olive is the right way round.
Connect the fuel line to the fuel pump (FP). Tighten the fuel line carefully using a ring wrench.
Note! Use a counterhold.
