Selector Cable Bushings and Dampers

1. Remove Air Cleaner (ACL).
Turbo models only:
Disconnect timing valve from ACL.





2. Remove clips and washers from levers
Press the old bushings out of the ring terminals.
Only If replacing damper units on cable bracket:
Remove clips from cable bracket and remove bracket assembly from transmission.





3. Install the new bushings in the ring terminals.

NOTE: Make sure bushings/openings are positioned as illustrated.





4. Install the new damper units on the cable bracket as illustrated.





5. Install:
- Cable bracket assembly on transmission, tighten to: 25 Nm.
- Selector cables to bracket by clips.

NOTE: The outer mounting and associated selector cable are both marked yellow.

- Lubricate selector arm pins with grease part No. 1161241-3, or equivalent.
- Selector cables to selector levers
- The two washers and two clips
6. Install ACL.
- Install hoses and connectors
- Timing valve to ACL (turbo models only).
