Turn Signal Switch: Service and Repair

WARNING: Following procedure is only for cars WITHOUT SRS (Air bag). Cars with SRS, Air Bag Systems. Also, if necessary, see Steering Wheel Removal Procedure in "Steering and Suspension".

Removal:





- Park car with wheels straight on level ground.
- Check that wheels are straight.
- Turn ignition off.





- Remove steering wheel center plate.
- Remove steering wheel nut.
- Remove steering wheel.
- Remove stalk screws.
- Remove stalks.





- Remove switch screws.
- Undo connector.

Installation:





CAUTION: Flasher switch should be in neutral position when installing steering wheel. Otherwise, there is a risk that the pin which controls the automatic reset will break off.

- Install wiper and/or flasher switches. When installing ground lead, check that this goes under the lower mounting screws.





- Install stalks and screws.
- Install steering wheel in straight ahead position.
- Install steering wheel nut. Torque setting 33 Nm (24 ft.lbf).
