Controlling Air Conditioning A/C Relay
Controlling Air-Conditioning (A/C) Relay
- Note! This function has been deleted with the effect from chassis Nos. 854-109023 and 855-019949.
Enter control code 1-1-1 as shown in "Entering codes" above.
- Press button three times (about 1 second each time). Leave a short pause after each time to allow the LED to come on again.
The control unit will respond with:
- Switches A/C relay on and off five times (10 seconds on, 10 seconds off).
- Switches compressor on and off.
- Operating and extinguishing A/C LED on control module.
If A/C relay does not respond to control code, there is test to perform fault tracing.
Self-adjustment of damper motor limit positions
You will need to make this adjustment after replacing a damper motor or switching to (testing with) a control unit which has been in use.
If you take a new control unit from store and use it, the control unit will adjust itself automatically while test driving the car.
- Enter control code 9-9-9 as shown in "Entering codes" above.
- Press button nine times in quick succession. Enter this series three times, with a pause after each series of nine, waiting for the LED to come back on before making the next input.
The control unit is now activated and will adjust the damper motor limit positions automatically.
Changing transmission speed from control unit to diagnostic unit
There are three speed settings for transmitting information from the control unit to the diagnostic unit. You can select the transmission speed by entering a transmission code as shown in "Entering codes" above:
- 3-1-1 Normal speed. Selected each time ignition is switched on.
- 3-1-2 Double speed. An experienced fault tracer can use double speed with no problems.
- 3-1-3 Ten times normal speed. Used for Diagnostic Key only.
The control unit always starts at normal speed unless another option is selected. If using double or 10x normal speed, the control unit will revert to normal speed each time the ignition is switched off.
