Removal

WARNING: Before commencing work, Service Precautions

CAUTION: Before commencing work, read and observe general repair instructions, air conditioning (A/C) system. Service and Repair

NOTE:
- When replacing receiver/dryer, always change O-rings in pipe and snap-on connections.
- When replacing Suction Pipe follow the same procedure but only change the Suction Pipe.





1. Disconnect battery negative cable
2. Drain system of refrigerant (refer to "Servicing the System With the...) Service and Repair
3. Disconnect air intake hose (N3):
- Remove hose connector to fan cover.
4. Remove control unit air intake hoses (N4).
- Remove diagnostic units from control unit box.
- Remove control unit box air intake hoses.
- Remove inlet hose connector to fan cover (2 clips).
5. Remove fan cover (N5):
- Disconnect relays and cables from fan cover (2 ties).
- Remove fan cover (4 screws), remove relay casing and spacers.
- Disconnect two-pin connector from fan relay and one-pin connector from fan motor.
- Remove fan cover.





6. Cover radiator with shield 5474 (6).
7. Disconnect pipe connections on compressor (suction pipe)(N7).
8. Disconnect snap-on connections (N8):
- Disconnect snap-on connections from receiver/dryer. Use snap-on remover tool 5472.
- Remove right-hand headlamp cover.
- Remove screw from receiver/dryer bracket.
9. Remove air guide (2 x T3O torx screws)(N9).
10. Remove receiver/dryer and bracket:
- With bracket suspended from side member, lift receiver/dryer out.





11. Remove receiver/dryer from bracket:
- When replacing receiver/dryer, fill the new receiver/dryer with 90 cm3 of fresh oil. Service and Repair (General Repair instructions)
- Switch hose to new receiver/dryer, torque setting 30 Nm (22 ft lb).

NOTE: Suction pipe position is relative to receiver/dryer.

- Switch bracket. Use gauge 5473 for right position.
