Temperature Control Cable

Adjustment of control wires:





Before adjusting control wires, try adjusting lower attachment of cable to climate control unit.
1. Remove soundproofing.
- Remove left- or right-hand soundproofing (depending on cable to be adjusted).
2. Disconnect cable sleeve concerned from its clip.
- Left-hand temperature damper cable (1). Turn left-hand temperature damper to 0. Push lever as far down as it will go and then push cable sleeve into clip.
- Right-hand temperature damper cable (2). Turn right-hand temperature damper to 0. Push lever as far down as it will go and then push cable sleeve into clip.
- Ventilation and floor/defroster damper cables (3). Set control to DEFROST (12 0'clock position). Push ventilation and floor/defroster levers to end position and then push sleeves into respective clips.
If this adjustment does not work, the upper cable fittings must be adjusted, go to step 3.

Replace control panel, control cable:





3. Remove left and right-hand soundproofing.
4. Disconnect cables from climate control unit.





5. Remove control panel front cover:
- Remove knobs from control panel and fan switch button.
- Remove screws (2) from control panel front cover.
- Remove front cover.
6. Undo control panel:
- Remove fan switch and recirculation/air-conditioning (A/C) switch from control panel.
- Remove control panel from dashboard (4 screws), lift out.





7. Disconnect dashboard light connector. Disconnect connector from back of control panel. To get at the connector, undo the back of the control panel first (2 screws).
8. Switch over cables (or adjust):
- Press cable clip with pliers and disconnect cables.
- Move cables to new control panel. Note that:
- The cover for the two temperature control cables is in line with the clip.
- The cover for the ventilation control cable is 17 mm outside the clip.
- The cover for the floor/defroster control cable is 17 mm outside the clip.

Installation:
9. Install:
- Rear of control panel.
- Connector on back of control panel.
- Control panel (4 screws).
- Fan switch and recirculation/A/C connector.
- Cables to climate control unit. For adjustment see step 2 (above).
When reinstalling, check each flap works properly.
- Control panel front plate (2 screws).
- Knobs and fan switch button.
- Left- and right-hand sound walls.
