Engine Cooling Fan & Relay

When performing the following tests refer to SCHEMATIC DIAGRAMS/ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC DIAGRAMS.

1. Turn ignition to ON position.
2. Connect a suitable jumper wire between thermal switch electrical connector terminals. Do not disconnect electrical connector.
3. With jumper wire properly installed, the engine cooling fan should activate.
4. If fan does not operate, visually check relay, relay wiring and electrical connector for open and/or short circuits, relay for correct installation, incorrectly grounded and/or damaged electrical connector. After conducting repairs on either the wiring, relay or electrical connector, repeat step 3.
5. If fan still does not operate, replace relay and repeat test procedure.
