Background:
In certain circumstances the mudguards may damage the paintwork on the front fenders.





A masking tape has been developed to protect paintwork against rubbing, and has been introduced into production from the following chassis no.s listed.

Method





Mark out the position of the mudguard using two pieces of tape (A).

Note!
Apply the tape 2 mm (5/64") from the mudguard.

Remove 4 rivets (B) and remove mudguard from the front fender.

Clean paintwork with cleaner H, P/N 1161436-9.

Apply the masking tape edge to edge with the marking tape.

Remove marking tape.





Install mudguard with 4 rivets P/N 979878-6.

WARRANTY STATEMENT: Claims may be submitted under the New Car Limited Warranty when there is a documented customer complaint of front fender paint damage caused by mudguards using claim type: 01
