Central Locking System Switch Inoperable
Central Locking System Switch Inoperable
Switch ignition off.
Undo central locking switch.
Undo connector.
H1 Checking Ground Lead
Connect an ohmmeter between position 4 on the connector and ground.
Ohmmeter should read approximately 0 Ohm.
If reading is correct:
Go to step H2.
If reading is incorrect:
Open-circuit in ground lead between position 4 and ground 31/50.
H2 Checking Signal Lead, Unlocking
Switch ignition off.
Connect a voltmeter between positions 6 and 4 (ground).
Voltmeter should read 0 Volt.
Connect an ohmmeter between positions 6 and 4 (ground).
Ohmmeter should read infinite resistance
If reading is correct:
Go to step H3.
If reading is incorrect:
Short-circuit in lead between position 6 and ULS in relay plinth 206.
Correct fault or install new lead.
H3 Checking Signal Lead When Locking
witch ignition off.
Connect a voltmeter between position 3 and position 4 (ground).
Voltmeter should read 0 Volts.
Connect an ohmmeter between positions 3 and 4 (ground).
Ohmmeter should read infinite resistance.
If reading is correct:
Go to step H4.
If reading is incorrect:
Short-circuit between position 3 and LS in relay plinth 205. Correct fault or install new lead.
H4 Checking Central Locking Works
Switch ignition off.
Lock all doors.
Connect a lead to position 4.
Bridge to position 6 for approximately one second.
Central locking system should move to unlocked position.
If the central locking system unlocks and locks:
Install new central locking switch.
If any operation does not work:
Open-circuit in one of the leads from the central locking switch to the central locking relay plinth. Correct fault or install new lead.
If neither operation works:
Go to step C21.
