Central Locking System Switch Inoperable




Central Locking System Switch Inoperable

Switch ignition off.
Undo central locking switch.
Undo connector.





H1 Checking Ground Lead
Connect an ohmmeter between position 4 on the connector and ground.
Ohmmeter should read approximately 0 Ohm.





If reading is correct:
Go to step H2.

If reading is incorrect:
Open-circuit in ground lead between position 4 and ground 31/50.



H2 Checking Signal Lead, Unlocking

Switch ignition off.
Connect a voltmeter between positions 6 and 4 (ground).
Voltmeter should read 0 Volt.





Connect an ohmmeter between positions 6 and 4 (ground).
Ohmmeter should read infinite resistance





If reading is correct:
Go to step H3.

If reading is incorrect:
Short-circuit in lead between position 6 and ULS in relay plinth 206.
Correct fault or install new lead.



H3 Checking Signal Lead When Locking

witch ignition off.





Connect a voltmeter between position 3 and position 4 (ground).
Voltmeter should read 0 Volts.
Connect an ohmmeter between positions 3 and 4 (ground).
Ohmmeter should read infinite resistance.





If reading is correct:
Go to step H4.

If reading is incorrect:
Short-circuit between position 3 and LS in relay plinth 205. Correct fault or install new lead.


H4 Checking Central Locking Works

Switch ignition off.
Lock all doors.




Connect a lead to position 4.
Bridge to position 6 for approximately one second.
Central locking system should move to unlocked position.





If the central locking system unlocks and locks:
Install new central locking switch.

If any operation does not work:
Open-circuit in one of the leads from the central locking switch to the central locking relay plinth. Correct fault or install new lead.

If neither operation works:
Go to step C21.
