Central Locking Inoperable on Trunk/Tailgate




NOTE: The control switch in the trunk/tailgate only controls the activation/deactivation of the basic alarm.


E1 Verify Mechanical Functions Of Central Locking Module On Trunk/Tailgate

Switch ignition off.
Confirm that the trunk/tailgate can be locked/unlocked manually using the master key or wallet key.





NOTE: Once the trunk/tailgate is locked, the key should be removed in the vertical position: otherwise the lock will be in the service/security position so that the trunk/tailgate central locking module will be out of the control of the central locking system.


If central locking module can be manually operated:
Check that trunk/tailgate central locking module electrics are working as per step E2.

If central locking module cannot be manually operated:
There is a mechanical fault in one of the central locking modules.
Deal with fault or install new central locking module.


E2 Checking Central Locking System Is Working Electrically

Switch ignition off.
Unlock driver's door with door key.
See if the central locking modules in the doors and fuel filler cap move to the unlocked position.
Lock driver's door with door key.
See it the central locking modules in the doors and fuel filler cap move to the locked position.
Repeat procedure from passenger door.





If the central locking system operates electrically:
Check central locking motor windings (trunk/tailgate central locking module) as per step C14 in CENTRAL LOCKING SYSTEM COMPLETELY INOP.

If the power central locking system will not operate electrically:
Check fuses as per step C1 CENTRAL LOCKING SYSTEM COMPLETELY INOP.
