Removing Tailgate Components
Removing Components in tailgateRemove the lateral panel at the rear:
Check which operations are required to remove the required components and poke out the
plastic plugs. Remove 2 screws and pry out lamp.
Remove D-post panel by removing screw holding panel to headlining. Lift out panel. Refer to Interior trim Cantrail D-Post Panel (Rear Trim)
Remove the trim around the door handle by inserting a putty knife in the top of the trim and prizing it downwards
Remove High-level stop (brake) lamp cover by grasping the cover with both hands and pulling down and out until it comes away.
Position a piece of card, approximately 180 x 100 mm, (7" x 4") between the upper and lower panel on both sides. This is to protect the upper panel when the lower panel is pushed off.
Remove the lower panel by grasping between the rubber strip and panel with your fingers and pulling the panel back and down to release the clips.
Undo the entire lower edge of the panel.
Bend the lower edge of the panel down away from the tailgate.
Knock the lower edge of the panel forwards with your hand to release it.
Remove panel.
Remove the small upper panel by pulling it inwards on both sides and backward at the top.
- Remove washer hose from nozzle and pull it through the tailgate panel.
- Remove washer hose from the check valve and pull it through the hinge.
Disconnect connector at the D-post and pull it out through the hinge opening.
