No Visible Signal When Alarm Is Triggered
NOTE: Alarm cannot be triggered for 10 seconds after activation.
Guard Alarm I:
Check control module programing to see that FUNCTION 8 is not set to SIGNAL PATTERN 1 (no output signal).
Sources of fault
Open-circuit in supply lead between battery and alarm relay plinth.
Short-circuit to ground in supply lead between battery and alarm relay plinth.
Open-circuit in signal lead between alarm relay plinth and LH turn signal (indicator) or RH turn signal (indicator) branching points.
Short-circuit to ground in signal lead between alarm relay plinth and LH turn signal (indicator) or RH turn signal (indicator) branching points.
Fault in turn signal (indicator).
Fault infuse 13.
Fault in alarm control module.
Fault-tracing starts with H1.
H1 Check That Turn Signal (Indicator) Is Working
Deactivate alarm.
Ignition on.
Switch LH or RH turn signal (indicator) on.
LH or RH turn signal (indicator) should flash.
If both flash:
Check fuse H2.
If neither flashes:
Check LH or RH turn signal (indicator).
H2 Checking Fuse
Ignition off.
Remove fuse 13 from engine compartment fuse panel and check that fuse is intact.
If fuse is intact:
Check supply to fuse H3.
If fuse is faulty:
Check lead between battery and alarm relay plinth position 30K (plinth 211) for short-circuit to ground as per WA4. Deal with fault or replace fuse. Other Fault-Tracing
H3 Check Supply To Fuse
Ignition off.
Connect a voltmeter between ground and fuseholder 11/13:1.
Voltmeter should read battery voltage.
If reading is OK:
Check supply to visible alarm H4.
If reading is incorrect:
Check lead between battery and fuseholder 11/13:1 for open-circuit as per WA3. Deal with fault or replace lead. Other Fault-Tracing
H4 Check Supply To Visible Alarm
Ignition off.
Replace fuse.
Remove alarm control module (position 210/211).
Connect a voltmeter to alarm relay plinth between position 30K (plinth 211) and position 31 (ground).
Voltmeter should read battery voltage.
If reading is OK:
Check visible alarm is working H5.
If reading is incorrect:
Check lead between fuse 13 and alarm relay plinth position 30K (plinth 211) for open-circuit as per WA3. Deal with fault or replace lead. Other Fault-Tracing
H5 Checking Visible Alarm Is Working
Ignition off.
Bridge L (LH):
Bridge alarm relay plinth between position 30k (plinth 211) and position L. Turn signal on LH side should light up.
Bridge R (RH):
Now move bridge on alarm relay plinth and connect it between position 30k (plinth 211) and position R. Turn signal (indicator) on RH side should light up.
If both light up:
Try another alarm control module after Fault-Tracing in Alarm Wiring Harness in Guard Alarm I or II (only).
Guard Alarm II:
Run control module self-test Guard Alarm II (Only) before replacing control module.
If neither lights up:
Check lead between alarm relay plinth position L and LH turn signal (indicator) branching point or lead between alarm relay plinth position R and RH turn signal (indicator) branching point for open-circuit as per WA3 and short-circuit to ground as per WA4. Deal with fault or replace lead. Other Fault-Tracing
