Table Of Parameter Values
There is not enough room in the table for a full explanation of every parameter value counter, see notes following table.
Comments On The Parameter Value Counters
General
When a fault is posted, a counter for that particular type of fault starts. A general section on how counters work is contained in section "SRS Airbag 6.2 on-board diagnostic (OBD) system in the Chapter Design and Function.
Row No. 004 In The Parameter Value Table:
Normally (no fault exists) it displays 00 00. The first two figures display the hours and the last two figures display the minutes.
The counter is not reset with the ignition off. The counter is reset when the fault has been remedied and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) cleared.
Row No. 005 In The Parameter Value Table:
Normally the counter should display 00000000.
00000001 indicates a fault in the SRS system.
00010000 indicates a collision.
00100000 indicates an internal SRS sensor module ROM fault.
01000000 indicates an internal SRS sensor module RAM fault.
10000000 indicates an internal SRS sensor module EEPROM fault.
The counter is not reset with the ignition off. The counter is reset when the fault has been remedied and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) cleared.
Row No. 006 In The Parameter Value Table:
Normally the counter should display 00000000.
00000001 indicates D+ voltage.
00001010 indicates supply voltage < 9 V.
00010100 indicates supply voltage> 18.5 V.
The counter is not reset with the ignition off.
The counter is reset if the fault disappears or when the fault has been remedied.
Rows 007 To 030 List Parameter Values:
Normally the counter should display 00000000.
The last four figures are for the fault counter which starts counting when each fault is detected. When the fault counter passes ten (00001011) the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored.
When the DTC is stored the numbers in the first two positions change.
The numbers in the first two positions are "11" (11001011) if the fault is permanent.
If the fault disappears (intermittent fault) when the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) has been stored the first figure is changed to a zero (01001011).
The counter is reset with the ignition off.
The counter is reset when the fault has been remedied and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) cleared.
Rows 031 And 032 List Parameter Values:
Normally the counter should display 00000000. The last six figures are for the fault counter which starts counting when each fault is detected. When the fault counter passes forty (00101001) the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored.
When the DTC is stored the numbers in the first two positions change The numbers in the first two positions are "11" (11101001) if the fault is permanent. If the fault disappears (intermittent fault) when the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) has been stored the number in the first position is changed to a zero (01101001).
The counter only records faults when the engine is running.
The counter is reset when the ignition or engine is switched off.
The counter is not reset when the fault has been remedied and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) cleared.
