Electrical Accessory Panel: Description and Operation

Electrical Control Panel:

The electrical control panel is located on the driver's side of the car and is bolted to the firewall in front of the windshield.

All the electrical connections between the passenger compartment and engine compartment run via the electrical control panel. There are no cables running through the firewall, which helps keep noise levels down and prevents water leaking.

The electrical control panel can be divided into three sections. The first section holds the fuses, the second, relays accessible via the engine compartment and the third, relays which can be accessed from the passenger compartment, underneath the dash board harness.

The electrical control panel is fitted with a cover over the fuses. To open this, push down the catch and lift cover. A decal on the inside of the cover shows what fuse goes where and what the fuse ratings are.

Undo the cover screws (see Image) to access relays for installation and fault-tracing.

The relays which are accessible via the engine compartment are connected to functions inside the engine compartment.

Relays for other functions are located under the dash board on a relay panel which is accessible from inside the passenger compartment.
