Sensor Signal Check

1. On connector leading to harness, connect a voltmeter between point 1 (yellow/gray) and ground.
2. Turn ignition switch on.
3. Voltmeter should read approximately 7 volts.
4. If voltmeter reads 0 volts, check wiring between connector point 1 (yellow/gray) and 30-pole connector on instrument cluster (A3) for open or short circuit.
5. If voltmeter reads battery voltage, check wiring between connector point 1 (yellow/gray) and 30-pole connector on instrument cluster (A5) for short circuit to battery potential.
6. If voltmeter reads 7 volts, replace instrument cluster.
