Malfunction Indicator Lamp - A/T: Description and Operation

Automatic Gearbox:

This warning light should be on continuously with the engine running and the gearshift selector in position 3 or L or the mode switch set to WINTER. If there is a fault in the automatic gearbox, the warning light starts flashing instead.

The warning light is always out with the gearshift selector on P, R, N, D and the mode switch on ECON or SPORT.
