Low Idling Speed
LOW IDLING SPEEDPreconditions
^ DTCs absent.
^ Engine is hot.
^ Fault is permanent.
Fault Sources
^ Throttle Body (TB) incorrectly adjusted.
^ Detective Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve.
TESTING PROCEDURE
Checking the Throttle Opening
^ START the engine and let it run at idling speed.
^ Read off the throttle angle.
Throttle angle should be 3 - 8° with the throttle closed.
If the value is OK:
- Check the IAC valve's connector.
If the reading is incorrect:
- Adjust the TB and control pulley.
Checking the IAC Valve's Connector
^ Clean and grease the ECM's and IAC valve's connector.
If the symptom remains:
- Test with a new IAC valve.
