Deleting DTCS

Deleting DTCs:
All DTCs stored must be "read off" at least once before they can be deleted.
The next step is to delete them.
If there are any faults remaining, the control module diagnostic system will detect them when the ECC system is activated and store them again.
- Connect scan tool.
- Ignition on.
- Follow scan tool procedures for deleting DTC(s).

Check that DTCs have been deleted:





- Ignition off.
- Ignition on.
- Test ECC system. Test Procedures
Start test mode 1. Initializing Test Modes





If code 1-1-1 appears: No DTCs stored. The codes which were stored have now been deleted.





If another code appears:
- Have all DTCs been read off at least once:
- All DTCs stored must be read off at least once before they can be deleted.
- Start test mode 1 and read off DTCs again.
- Have all faults been dealt with, if there are any faults left, the control module diagnostic system will detect them when the ECC system is activated and tested and will store the same DTCs again. Testing and Inspection
