Evacuation (Discharging)

CAUTION: Check compressor oil and top up if necessary before evacuating car's air-conditioning system. General Repair Instruction, Air Conditioning System and Specifications

- Set switch (2) to EVACUATION. Make sure that both cocks (7 and 8) are shut and that the H/P (9) socket is plugged with the brass cap to prevent air getting drawn into the unit.
- Evacuate for at least 50 minutes.
- The pressure should now be 1 - 3 mbar. To ensure that moisture is removed, it is important to evacuate for at least 50 minutes.
- Press VACUUM CHECK button (6) and hold down for four minutes.
- The vacuum meter reading (scale 16) should not fall more than slightly (0.1 - 0.3 mbar) during this time.
- Now press VACUUM CHECK (8) button again.
- The unit will now reset to standby (OFF).
