Checking Seat Rails

AAA. Fault-tracing information





Condition

No diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)
The fault is permanent.

Possible source
- Seat prevented from moving.
- Defective seat rail.

Fault symptom(s)
- Seat will not move forward/backward.
- Fault-tracing begins at AAB.





AAB. Checking seat rails

AAB1: Checking for jamming
- Ignition OFF.
- Check guide rail to see if anything is stuck in it.

There should be no foreign objects in the rail which may prevent movement forward/backwards.

If reading is OK:
- AAB3

If reading is incorrect:
- AAB2


AAB2: Fault-tracing information
The fault was due to an object in the seat rails preventing seat movement.
Check that there is no damage to the power seat.

Then continue with:
- Fault corrected





AAB3: Checking seat rails
- Ignition OFF.
- Checking the seat rail gear sector.
Is the gear sector OK?

Yes:
- Fault not found

No:
- AAB4






AAB4: Replace component
- Try a new seat rail.

Then continue with:
- Fault corrected
