Central Locking Inoperable on Filler Cover
NOTE: If the fuel filler cap is locked, it can be unlocked using the emergency lever located under a separate cover in the top front section of the right hand luggage compartment panel. Pull the emergency lever backwards along the line of the car to unlock.
F1 Checking That Fuel Filler Cap Central Locking Module Electrics Work
Switch ignition off.
Open fuel filler cap.
Lock the central locking system from the right hand front door using the door key.
See if the locking rod in the fuel filler cap central locking module moves to the locked position.
Unlock the central locking system from the right hand front door using the door key.
See if the locking rod in the fuel filler cap central locking module moves to the unlocked position.
If central locking module can be operated electrically:
There is a mechanical fault in the fuel filler cap or fuel filler cap central locking module. Check that the locking rod locks the fuel filler cap without sticking, lubricate fuel filler cap and locking rod if necessary. Correct fault or install new parts if faulty.
If central locking module cannot be operated electrically:
Check central locking motor windings (fuel filler cap central locking module) as per step C14 in CENTRAL LOCKING SYSTEM COMPLETELY INOP.
