Sources of fault
Open-circuit in door contact ground lead.
Open-circuit in signal lead between door contact and central locking relay.
Short-circuit to supply in signal lead between door contact and central locking relay.
Open-circuit in signal lead between central locking relay and alarm control module.
Short-circuit to supply in signal lead between central locking relay and alarm control module.

Fault in alarm control module.

Fault-tracing starts at B1.

B1 Checking Door Contacts
Deactivate alarm.

Ignition on.

Ignition off.

Check that courtesy light switch is in door position.
Open a door.

B2 Checking Signal Lead Supply

Ignition off.
Remove alarm control module (position 210/211).

Open a door.

Connect a voltmeter to alarm relay plinth between position T and position 31 (ground). Voltmeter should read less than 1 V.

If reading is OK:
Check signal lead B3.

If reading is incorrect:
Check lead between central locking system relay plinth position T and alarm relay plinth position T for short-circuit to supply as per WA5 (See Other Fault-Tracing). Deal with fault or replace lead.

B3 Checking Signal Lead
Ignition off.

Change locking unit to locked position by pushing catch in with a screwdriver.

Reset catch in open position after fault-tracing by opening door using inside or outside door handles.

Connect a voltmeter to alarm relay plinth between position T and position 31 (ground). Voltmeter should read battery supply when door is closed.

If reading is OK:
Try another alarm control module after carrying out fault-tracing

Guard Alarm II:
Run self-test of control module in Guard Alarm II (only). Before replacing module.

If reading is incorrect:
Check lead between central locking system relay plinth position T and alarm relay plinth position T for open-circuit as per WA3 (See Other Fault-Tracing). Deal with fault or replace lead.
