Functions

NOTE: Some functions are programable. So check the control module programing for variations from the default functions below.

Activation

Activation is by pressing the large button on the remote control. The remote control sends a signal to the receiver built into the control module. The control module demodulates and decodes the signal, and decides whether the string of pulses is correct. When activated, the car's turn signals (indicators) give a long acknowledgement signal.

When the alarm is activated, this is indicated by single short flashes from the indicator LED. If any door, the hood (bonnet) or trunk (boot) are open, or if there is a fault in any of the alarm loops, the indicator LED stays lit for 5 seconds, then starts flashing.

NOTE: The alarm cannot be activated with the ignition on.

Deadlock
If the car is fitted with deadlock (see Central locking system with deadlocks), the alarm can only be activated in deadlock.

Deactivation

To deactivate the alarm, press the large button on the remote control. The indicator LED will go out immediately. On deactivation, an acknowledgement signal is given in the form of 2 short flashes from the car's turn signals (indicators).

NOTE: If none of the doors, the hood (bonnet) or trunk (boot) are opened within 2 minutes of deactivation, the alarm will be reactivated and the doors, hood (bonnet) and trunk (boot) locked. When the alarm has been activated, it cannot be triggered for 10 seconds.

When The Alarm Is Triggered The Car Is Protected By:
The standard door contacts.
The contact on the LH hood (bonnet) catch.
The standard trunk (boot) contact.
The start inhibitor prevents the engine being started once the alarm has been triggered (e.g. by hot-wiring).
Window sensor (optional extra).

The Alarm Is Triggered If:

The doors, hood (bonnet) or trunk (boot) are opened.
The ignition is switched on (or the starter motor is hot-wired).
The sensor detects that the window has been smashed.
When the alarm is triggered, the horn or siren sounds for 30 seconds and the turn signals (indicators) flash for 5 minutes.
When the audible alarm stops, the alarm reverts to guard mode.
The LED flashes once a second.

The Alarm Will Be Triggered Again If The Intruder Makes Another Attempt.

If the car doors are left open after someone attempts to steal the car, the alarm will be triggered again if any of the alarm loops is triggered or the ignition is switched on.
When the alarm is triggered, the indicator LED will continue to flash.
Only once the alarm has been deactivated using the remote control's large button will the LED stay lit to show that an alarm has been triggered previously.

NOTE: The LED will go out when the ignition is switched off. The panic function does not work with the ignition on.

Panic Function

If the little button on the remote control is kept pressed down for more than 3 seconds, the alarm will be triggered. This is to attract attention in the event of an attack, or if someone is trying to break in or tamper with the car. To switch the panic function off, press either of the remote control buttons.

Disconnecting Sensor

This function is used to activate the alarm when, for example, leaving an animal in the car or on boarding the car on a terry, if one of the sensors might otherwise trigger the alarm:
Deactivate the alarm.
Ignition on.
Press the large button on the remote control briefly.
The car's turn signals (indicators) will flash briefly to indicate that the sensor input is disconnected.

Ignition off.
Activate the alarm.
When the alarm is activated, all other alarm functions will work as usual. This function is reset when the ignition is switched on.

Service Mode
Service mode is used when putting the car in for servicing etc. In this mode, the alarm is turned off and will not react to signals from the alarm inputs. The car battery can be disconnected without problem, as programed alarm memory remains stable for up to ten years. The car can be driven as if it were not equipped with an alarm system.

Activating Service Mode:

Deactivate alarm.

Ignition on.
Keep the large button on the remote control pressed for 3 seconds.
Once the turn signals (indicators) flash twice briefly, the alarm is in service mode.

Ignition off.
In service mode, the LED flashes briefly once every three seconds.
Always lock the car using the standard door key when the alarm is in service mode.

NOTE: If the car is fitted with a siren and rechargeable batteries, these must be turned off separately using the appropriate key.

Deactivating Service Mode:

Ignition off.
Press the large remote control button twice.
Pressing once activates the alarm and locks any unlocked doors.
If a siren is fitted, activate it using the key supplied.
