DTC 4-1-4 and 4-1-7

DTC 4-1-4 AND 4-1-7. PASSENGER COMPARTMENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR INTAKE FAN SEIZED:





DTC 4-1-4 = Driver side passenger compartment temperature sensor intake fan seized.
DTC 4-1-7 = Passenger side passenger compartment temperature sensor intake fan seized.

- Condition for DTC:
If the signal to the intake fan integral with the passenger compartment temperature sensor is blocked, the ground (GND) will exceed the permitted level. The control module records the fault and stores the DTC.

- Cause of fault:
Fault in sensor fan or fan blade stuck.

- Symptoms:
Fault warning to driver. LEDs by A/C and REC buttons flash for 20 sec.

Check intake fan:
- Ignition off.
- Uncover passenger compartment temperature sensor. Service and Repair
- Check if fan blade rotates freely and there is nothing which could make it stick.
- If there is a blockage:
Rectify blockage.
- If there is no visible blockage:
Remove passenger compartment temperature sensor.
Replace passenger compartment temperature sensor and refit in reverse order.
Check DTC. Test Procedures
