DTC 4-1-2 and 4-1-5

DTC 4-1-2 AND 4-1-5. PASSENGER COMPARTMENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR INTAKE FAN GROUND (GND) SHORT:

DTC 4-1-2 = Driver side passenger compartment temperature sensor intake fan GND short.
DTC 4-1-5 = Passenger side passenger compartment temperature sensor intake fan GND short.

- Condition for DTC:
If the signal from the intake fan integral with the passenger compartment temperature sensor shows a GND short, the control module records the fault and stores the DTC.

- Cause of fault:
Short in wire or section fan.

- Symptoms:
Fault warning to driver. LEDs by A/C and REC buttons flash for 20 sec.

Connect Test Unit To Control Module:

- Ignition off.
- Connect test unit between control module and A/C system connector and check GND points. Connecting and Disconnecting Test Unit
- Go to the next step "Check Wire Resistance".

Check Wire Resistance:

- Ignition off.
- Disconnect adapter from control module.
- Disconnect connector from passenger compartment temperature sensor. Service and Repair
- Connect an ohmmeter.
On driver side, across # 6 and # 45.
On passenger side, across # 6 and # 46.
- If ohmmeter reads 0 ohm, short in wire across connector pin 4 and connector B to control module.
On driver side, to pin B:15.
On passenger side, to pin B:16.
Check wire for GND short. Checking Wires
Rectify short.
Check DTC.Test Procedures
- If ohmmeter reading is infinite, wire is OK. Go to next step "Check Intake Fan".

Check Intake Fan:

- Ignition off.
- Disconnect wire connector from passenger compartment temperature sensor. Service and Repair
- Connect an ohmmeter across pin 2 and 4 on passenger compartment temperature sensor.
- If value is OK, ohmmeter should read approx. 50K ohms.
- If value is not OK, if ohmmeter reads 0 ohm, the intake fan is shorted. Replace passenger compartment temperature sensor and refit in reverse order.
- Check DTC. Test Procedures
