Selector Lever, Emergency Release

• It is not possible to move the selector lever out of the "P" position if the battery is disconnected or if it is discharged.

• The shift lock solenoid (N110) releases the lock in the de-energized state when the emergency release is activated.

Vehicles through 04.10:

- Open the storage compartment/ashtray.

- Unclip the trim in the front center console - arrows -.






- Lift the trim just enough to make the emergency release accessible. It is not necessary to disconnect the electrical connectors.

- Move the emergency release lever up with a finger or a screwdriver - arrow - while pressing the push button on the handle and shifting the selector lever out of the "P" position.






- The trim can now be reinstalled in the center console.

• Prior to installation of the trim, check that all electrical connectors are connected.

Vehicles from 05.10:

- Open the storage compartment/ashtray.

- Remove the storage compartment/ashtray.

- Remove the plugs.

- Press the emergency release lever through the opening using a thin pen or a small screwdriver.






- Press the button on the handle at the same time and shift the selector lever out of the "P" position.
