Wheel Bearing Overview, 18" Suspension






1 Wheel Bearing

Wheel bearing unit, removing and installing, refer to => [ Wheel Bearing, for 17" Suspension ] Wheel Bearing, for 17" Suspension.

Wheel bearing unit, servicing, refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Unit ] Service and Repair.

Avoid contaminating with dirt and damaging the seal when setting down/storing.

2 Wheel Hub

Wheel bearing unit, removing and installing, refer to => [ Wheel Bearing, for 17" Suspension ] Wheel Bearing, for 17" Suspension.

Avoid contaminating with dirt and damaging the seal when setting down/storing.

3 Nut

500 Nm

Always replace if removed.

4 Tie Rod

Conical pin must be free of grease and oil.

If necessary, clean using dry rag, do not use cleaning agents.

5 Front Speed Sensor

6 Bolt

8 Nm

7 Cover Plate

8 Bolts

9 Nm

Quantity: 3

9 Nut

90 Nm

Always replace if removed.

10 Wheel Bearing Housing

Conical bores must be free of grease and oil.

If necessary, clean using dry rag, do not use cleaning agents.

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Housing ] Wheel Bearing Housing.

For the correct allocation, refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

Avoid contaminating with dirt and damaging the seal when setting down/storing.

11 Drive Axle

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Drive Axle Overview ] Drive Axle Overview.

Before assembling, coat splines using assembly paste (G 052 109 A2).

12 Bracket

9 Nm

Avoid contaminating with dirt and damaging the seal when setting down/storing.






The wheel bearing - 1 - must always face up.

Always set the wheel bearing down on the wheel hub - 2 -.

The same procedure also applies to the wheel bearing without a wheel hub.
