Stabilizer Bar Mount






Stabilizer Bar Mount

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)

Perform the Following Work:

Removing

Vehicles with an Air Spring Shock Absorber

- Activate the vehicle lift mode and place the vehicle on the lifting platform. Refer to => [ Vehicle Lift Mode ] Description and Operation.

Continuation for Both Vehicles

- Remove the noise insulation below the engine/transmission.

Vehicles with V6 TDI Engine

In vehicles with a V6 TDI engine, a damper is installed on the right side.

- Pry the cap - 1 - off of the damper - 2 - and unscrew the securing bolt.






- Remove the damper - 2 - from the stabilizer bar clamp.

Continuation for All Vehicles

- Unscrew the bolts - arrows - for the stabilizer bar clamp - 1 - on the subframe.






- Remove the stabilizer bar clamp - 1 -.

The two mount halves are engaged in one another via retaining tabs.






- Carefully unclip both retaining tabs - arrows - from the stabilizer bar mount - 1 -.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Ensure proper seating of the mount halves - 1 - on the hexagon guide - arrow - of the stabilizer bar.






- Carefully press the mount halves together until the tabs engage audibly.

- Install the stabilizer bar clamp - 1 -.






- Tighten the bolts - arrows - for the stabilizer bar clamp - 1 - on the subframe by hand.

Vehicles with V6 TDI Engine

- Install the damper - 2 - on the stabilizer bar clamp and tighten the retaining bolt by hand.






Continuation for All Vehicles

- Tighten the bolts for the stabilizer bar clamp to the specified torque.

Vehicles with V6 TDI Engine

- Install the cap - 1 - on the damper - 2 -.
