Crankshaft Main Bearing
Guide Frame
Replace the bolts - 1 through 16 -.
Insert the alignment sleeves in the guide frame.
Tighten the guide frame bolts in the following sequence:
Tighten the bolts - 1 through 16 - to 30 Nm.
Tighten the bolts - 1 through 16 - to 50 Nm.
Tighten the bolts - 1 through 16 - an additional 90° (1/4) turn.
Allocation of Crankshaft Bearing Shells for the Cylinder Block
Bearing shells with the correct thickness are allocated to the cylinder block by the factory. Colored dots on the bearing shells serve to identify the bearing shell thickness.
The - arrow - points to the belt pulley side.
Allocation of bearing shells to the cylinder block is identified with a letter by each bearing.
Allocation of Crankshaft Bearing Shells for the Guide Frame
Bearing shells with the correct thickness are allocated to the bearing cap by the factory. Colored dots on the bearing shells serve to identify the bearing shell thickness.
Allocation of the bearing shells to the crankshaft is identified with sequence of letters on the crankshaft side. The prefix "1" - arrow - indicates the color code for bearing cap 1.
Main Bearing Clearance
Axial play new:
0.090 to 0.215 mm
Axial play wear limit:
0.280 mm
Main Bearing Clearance
Radial clearance, new:
0.018 to 0.045 mm
Radial clearance wear limit:
0.10 mm
