Parking Assist Control Module: Service and Repair







Parking Aid Control Module (J446)

The parking aid control module is located under the instrument panel inside the footwell on the driver side.

Removal

- Turn off the ignition and all electric consumers and remove the key.

- Remove the bracket for the Comfort system central control module (J393). Refer to => [ Comfort System Central Control Module (J393) Bracket ] Comfort System Central Control Module (J393) Bracket.

It is necessary to remove the fuse panel on the driver side because there is a wiring harness behind it. The wires can remain connected to the fuse panel.

- Remove the fuse panel on the driver side. Refer to => [ Fuse Holder ] Fuse Holder.

- Remove the 3 screws - 1 - and lower the gateway control module bracket - 2 -. Pay attention to the wires still connected.






- Remove the screw - 1 - on the back of the bracket and the parking aid control module - 2 -.






- Disconnect all the connectors.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Tighten the screws on the gateway control module bracket to 3.5 Nm.

- Tighten the screw on the parking aid control module to the gateway control module bracket to 1.5 Nm.
