Exhaust Sensor Overview

• If the particulate filter or the differential pressure sensor has been replaced, then the differential pressure sensor must be adapted using the vehicle diagnostic tester. Refer to "adapting the differential pressure sensor" in Guided Functions.

• Installed location for the connector, refer to => [ Installed Position of the Exhaust Cleaning System Connector ].






1 Rear Exhaust Pipe with Catalytic Converter

2 Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 4 (G648)

• 45 Nm

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 4 G648 ] Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 4 G648.

• Coat with hot bolt paste, refer to the Parts Catalog.

4 Front Exhaust Pipe with Catalytic Converter

5 Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 3 (G495)

• 45 Nm

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 3 G495 ] Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 3 G495.

• Pay attention to the installed position.

• Coat with hot bolt paste, refer to the Parts Catalog.

6 Catalyst Temperature Sensor 1 (G20)

• 45 Nm

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Catalyst Temperature Sensor 1 G20 ] Catalyst Temperature Sensor 1 G20.

• Pay attention to the installed position.

• Coat with hot bolt paste, refer to the Parts Catalog.

7 Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 2 (G448)

• 45 Nm

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 2 G448 ] Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 2 G448.

• Pay attention to the installed position.

• Coat with hot bolt paste, refer to the Parts Catalog.

8 Nut

• 2.5 Nm

9 NOx Sensor (G295)

• 45 Nm

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ NOx Sensor G295 ] NOx Sensor G295.

10 Oxygen Sensor 1 before Catalytic Converter (GX10)

• 50 Nm

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Oxygen Sensor 1 before Catalytic Converter GX10 ] Oxygen Sensor 1 before Catalytic Converter GX10.

• With the heated oxygen sensor.

• With the oxygen sensor heater.

• Only grease the threads with hot bolt paste (G 052 112 A3). Do not allow the paste to enter the slits on the sensor body.

• To remove, use the ring spanner 7-piece set (3337).

• 45 Nm

• Coat with hot bolt paste, refer to the Parts Catalog.

13 Differential Pressure Sensor (G505)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Differential Pressure Sensor G505 ] Service and Repair.

14 Nut

• 3.5 Nm

15 Differential Pressure Sensor Control Line

16 NOx Sensor 2 (G687)

• 45 Nm

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ NOx Sensor 2 G687 ] NOx Sensor 2 G687.

17 Nut

• 3.5 Nm
