Start diagnosis

The reducing agent AdBlue(R) can irritate skin, eyes and possibly the respiratory system. If the fluid comes into contact with skin, rinse the affected area with plenty of water. Consult a physician if necessary.

The Reducing Agent Tank Heater is located on the top of the Reducing Agent Tank Assembly below the Reducing Agent pump. This component is available separately. Refer to Exhaust System component overviews in the Repair Information for component locations.

- Remove the Reducing Agent Tank Assembly. The assembly is located above the rear muffler, mounted under the spare tire well, protected by a metal shield. Refer to the Repair Information for location and removal instructions.

- Disconnect the T5 electrical harness connector at the Reducing Agent Heater Control Module (J891)

Checking resistance

- Measure the resistance of the Reducing Agent Tank Heater (Z102) terminals using the chart below. Refer to Wiring Diagrams.

Specified value: 4 Ohms (+/- 1 Ohm)

If the specified value was Not obtained replace the Reducing Agent Tank Heater (Z102).

If the specified value was obtained:

- Measure the resistance of the Reducing Agent Tank Assembly T14 (vehicle) harness electrical connector terminal 8 to ground.

Specified value: Less than 4 Ohms.

If the specified value was Not obtained:

- Repair the open ground circuit. Refer to the Wiring Diagrams.

If the specified value was obtained:

Replace the Reducing Agent Heater Control Module (J891).
