Headlamp Switch: Service and Repair

Light Switch (E1)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Trim Removal Wedge (VAS 3409)

The following components are integrated in the Light switch, depending on the vehicle equipment level:

• Rear Fog Lamp Button (E314)

• Fog Lamp Button (E315)

• Headlamp Switch Illumination Bulb (L9)

• Headlamp Adjuster (E102)

• Instrument Panel Illumination Dimmer Switch (E20)

Removal

When removing and installing components in visible area (switches, covers, trim, etc.), cover by taping the areas at which a prying tool (plastic wedge, screwdriver) will be positioned using commercially available adhesive tape.

- Turn off the ignition and all electric consumers and remove the key.

- Pry the Light switch - 1 - out of the instrument panel with the assembly wedge.






- Disconnect the connectors and remove the Light switch - 1 -.






Installation

Install in reverse order of removal.
