Left Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor (V48)/Right Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor (V49)







Left Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor (V48)/Right Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor (V49)

If the motors are removed and installed again or replaced, check the headlamp adjustment and adjust it again if necessary. Refer to => Procedure Description.

Removing and installing the left headlamp beam adjustment motor is shown in the illustrations.

Removing and installing the right headlamp beam adjustment motor is identical.

Removing:

- Turn off the ignition and all electric consumers and remove the key.

- Remove the headlamp. Refer to => [ Headlamp ] Headlamp.

- Remove both bolts - arrows -.






- Press the lock button and, starting at the top, remove the cover with the control module - 2 - from the headlamp housing.

- Disengage the cover from the lower guides and move it to the side. Pay attention to the wires still connected.

- Turn the headlamp range control positioning motor - 2 - all the way in the - direction of the arrow -.






- Move the headlamp range control positioning motor - 2 - so that it is possible to disengage the ball head - 1 - from the reflector toward the rear.

- Remove the headlamp beam positioning motor fro the headlamp. Be careful of the connected wires.

- Disconnect the connector - 1 - and remove the positioning motor - 2 -.






Installing:

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Slightly lift the reflector for the low beam headlamp. This makes is easier to install the ball head into the mount on the reflector.

When installing cap, ensure proper seating. Water getting in the headlamp will cause damage.

- Check headlamp for function.

- Check the headlamp adjustment and correct it if necessary. Refer to => Procedure Description.
