Left Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor (V48)/Right Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor (V49)
• If the motors are removed and installed again or replaced, check the headlamp adjustment and adjust it again if necessary. Refer to => Procedure Description.
• Removing and installing the left headlamp beam adjustment motor is shown in the illustrations.
• Removing and installing the right headlamp beam adjustment motor is identical.
Removing:
- Turn off the ignition and all electric consumers and remove the key.
- Remove the headlamp. Refer to => [ Headlamp ] Headlamp.
- Remove both bolts - arrows -.
- Press the lock button and, starting at the top, remove the cover with the control module - 2 - from the headlamp housing.
- Disengage the cover from the lower guides and move it to the side. Pay attention to the wires still connected.
- Turn the headlamp range control positioning motor - 2 - all the way in the - direction of the arrow -.
- Move the headlamp range control positioning motor - 2 - so that it is possible to disengage the ball head - 1 - from the reflector toward the rear.
- Remove the headlamp beam positioning motor fro the headlamp. Be careful of the connected wires.
- Disconnect the connector - 1 - and remove the positioning motor - 2 -.
Installing:
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
• Slightly lift the reflector for the low beam headlamp. This makes is easier to install the ball head into the mount on the reflector.
• When installing cap, ensure proper seating. Water getting in the headlamp will cause damage.
- Check headlamp for function.
- Check the headlamp adjustment and correct it if necessary. Refer to => Procedure Description.
