Engine Oil Level Checking, using the Oil Gauge Tester

Check the engine oil level using the infotainment display.

Conditions

• The engine oil temperature is a minimum of 60 °C (140 °F).

• The vehicle is on level ground.

• After turning off the engine, wait a few minutes to allow the oil to drain back into the oil pan.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Oil Gauge Tester (T40178)

Sequence

Marking field on the oil gauge tester:

- Loosen the thumb screw - arrow - and move the adjusting ring so that the lower edge of the ring matches the value on the upper scale taken from the table.






- Install the oil gauge tester all the way into the oil dipstick guide tube. Then pull it out and read the oil level again.

- Read the value on the lower scale.
