External Audio Source Connection (R199)

The external audio source connection - arrow - is installed in the glove compartment.






The information electronics control module in the RNS 850 and the external multimedia device interface in the RCD 550 provide and interface for audio input such a USB input and an iPod connection (supply, signal and AUDIO IN). A specific adapter cable is needed to connect a mobile unit to the USA or iPod interface. It can also charge the connected device via the USB or iPod connection.

The wire connection from the external audio source connection (R199) is connected to the information electronics control module or to the external multimedia device interface. The information electronics control module or the external multimedia device interface produce the signal.

The following connections are possible with the help of the specific adapter cables:

• AUX-IN (line in, stereo)

• USB 2.0 (high speed)

• Serial interface for iPod

• AV-IN (Line In, stereo and video analog), only for RNS 850.
