Rear Lid, Rear Lid Drive Motor







Rear Lid Drive Motor






- Remove the rear lid trim panel..

- Disconnect the harness connectors - 8 - for the lines of the rear lid drive motor - 4 - and the sensor strip - 3 -.

- Pull the lines - 3 and 4 - with the rubber grommet - 5 - out of the rear lid.

- Remove the sensor strip line - 3 - out of the rubber grommet - 5 -.

Support the rear lid to remove a rear lid drive motor.

Be very careful when reusing a rear lid drive motor. The spring clip must not be removed completely from the ball socket to prevent damage. The rear lid drive motor will spring out of the mount, damage the vehicle and cause serious injury.






Perform the following:

- Support rear lid.

- Insert a small screwdriver - 3 - under the spring clips - 2 -.

- Lift the spring clips - 2 - just far enough to make it possible to slide them over the ball sockets.

- Remove the rear lid drive motor - 1 - from the ball stud - 4 -.

After removal of the rear lid drive motor, slide the spring clips - 2 - back immediately.

Be very careful when reusing a rear lid drive motor. The spring clip must not be removed completely from the ball socket to prevent damage. The rear lid drive motor will spring out of the mount, damage the vehicle and cause serious injury.

Tightening specification for the ball stud - 4 -: 20 Nm + 45°.

Tightening specification for the screws on the ball stud bracket: 10 Nm + 45°.
