Roof Rail Angle Bracket
Removing
• If angle bracket is to be re-installed, make sure conical washers remain in tolerance compensations in their places.
• Always use a lower and upper conical washer.
• The conical washers must not be interchanged.
Perform the following:
- Remove the headliner.
- Remove the roof rail.
- Remove the nuts - 2 -.
- Remove the angle bracket - 1 and 3 - together with the tolerance compensations - 4 and 5 -.
If the angle bracket is to be reinstalled, secure the tolerance compensations to the angle bracket with commercially available adhesive tape.
Installing
• Do not interchange the conical washers - 3 and 4 -.
If you have secure the conical washers with adhesive tape, remove tape before installation.
- Make sure the conical washers - 4 and 5 - fit properly.
- Place the roof railing - 1 - on the roof - 6 -, then guide the angle bracket - 1 and 3 - over the threaded bolts until the conical washers - 4 and 5 - are centered.
- Tighten the nuts - 2 - until the angle bracket comes in contact with the roof.
- Tighten nuts - 2 -, tightening torque: 10 Nm
- If dents appear around the base of the roof rail, readjust angle bracket.
New angle bracket, installing
- Install the new angle bracket - 1 - until the securing pins - 5 - latch inside the roof - arrows a -.
- Tighten nuts - 2 -, tightening torque: 10 Nm
- If dents appear around the base of the roof rail, readjust angle bracket.
- Remove the securing pin - 4 - upward - arrow b - and remove the securing cap - 3 - downward - arrow c -.
