Service Position, Setting
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Guide rods (T10093)
• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)
• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1332)
• In the event of damage to the lock carrier or the bumper carrier, check the Distance regulation control module (J428) and Distance regulation control module 2 (J850) for damage.
• Information regarding the distance regulation control modules - 5 -.
Perform the following:
- Remove front bumper cover. Refer to => [ Front Bumper Cover ] Front Bumper Cover.
- Disconnect the release cable from the lock carrier. Refer to=> [ Release, Disconnecting ] Release, Disconnecting.
- In vehicles with a charge air cooler, release the pressure hoses. Refer to=> [ Pressure Hose and Coupling, Unlocking ] Pressure Hose and Coupling, Unlocking.
- Remove the bolts - 2 and 4 -.
- Remove the bolts - 3 - at the left and right longitudinal members.
- Screw in guide pins (T10093) on the left and right longitudinal members.
- The lock carrier - 1 - can be pulled forward approximately 10 cm on the guide pins (3411) - arrows a -.
