External Multimedia Device Interface (R215)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Radio Removal Tool (T10057)

If the control module is replaced, select the "Replacement" function for the appropriate control module in "Guided Fault Finding".

Use the Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051) or Vehicle diagnosis and service system (VAS 5052) for this purpose.

Removing

- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers.

- Open the glove compartment and pull the lever in the - direction of arrow A -. This lowers the installation frame with the external multimedia device interface in the - direction of the arrow -.






- Insert the (T10057) into the openings - arrows - until it locks into place.






- Push the tool in direction - A - and remove the control module in direction - B -.






- Remove the connector - A - from the control module - arrow -.






Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.

When replacing radio system control modules, it is necessary to adapt the replaced control modules to the vehicle. If this is not performed, component protection is activated for these control modules so that they do not work or only on a highly limited basis.
