Alarm Horn (H12)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1410)

The alarm horn is located inside the plenum chamber in the center.

• To remove the alarm horn, anti-theft alarm system must be deactivated. Refer to => [ Anti-Theft Alarm System, Activating and Deactivating ] Activating and Deactivating.

• Check the alarm horn using the Comfort system central control module (J393).

Removal

- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.

- Remove the windshield wiper system. Refer to => [ Windshield Wiper System ] Windshield Wiper System.

- Disconnect the connector - 1 - from the alarm horn - 2 -.






- Remove the nuts - 3 - and the alarm horn - 2 -.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Tighten the nuts on the alarm horn bracket to 4 Nm.
