Headlamp Spray Nozzle Holder

Headlamp Spray Nozzle Holder

Do not remove the spray nozzle lift cylinders by hand.

Depending on the design, a lift cylinder, which was manually removed, can jam up during the return stroke.

Do not manually push the lift cylinder back down; this will damage the lift cylinder.

A jammed lift cylinder will become functional again once it activated by the system.

The lift cylinders come out only with water or air pressure.

Removing

- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.

- Extend the lift cylinder by operating the headlamp washer system.

- Remove the cap - 1 - from the mountings - arrows - on the spray nozzle holder.

- Lift the retaining hook - arrow - slightly and remove the spray nozzle holder.

Installing

Use the catches on the spray nozzle holder to adjust how far the cap of the spray nozzle is pulled onto the bumper cover.

The cap will not close if the spray nozzle bracket does not retract far enough.

If the spray nozzle bracket moves with too much force, the cap and the bumper cover will get damaged.

- Push the spray nozzle holder into the lift cylinder until it locks in place.

- Install the cap on the spray nozzle holder and let the lift cylinder retract.

- Check the cap for proper seating on the bumper cover.

- Adjust the cap if necessary by shifting the spray nozzle holder into a higher or lower catch on the lift cylinder.

- Bleed the headlamp washer system after conclusion of the assembly steps. Refer to => [ Headlamp Washer System, Bleeding ] Procedures.

- Check the spray nozzles for the headlamp cleaning system and adjust if necessary. Refer to => [ Headlamp Washer System Spray Nozzles, Adjusting ] Headlamp Washer System Spray Nozzles, Adjusting.
