Trailing Arm, FWD

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Thrust Plate (VW 401)

• Thrust Plate (VW 402)

• Installation device (3372)

• Assembly tool (T10230)

Pressing out the bonded rubber mount

- Remove trailing link => [ Trailing Arm with Mounting Bracket, FWD ] Trailing Arm with Mounting Bracket, FWD.

- Clamp longitudinal control arm into vise so that mounting bracket - 1 - makes contact at vise - arrow -.






- Remove bolt - 2 -.

- Install tools as shown in the illustration.

4. Thrust Plate (VW 401)

5. Thrust Plate (VW 402)


- Press out the bonded rubber mount.

Installing the bonded rubber bushing

Position the bonded rubber bushing as follows:






1. Install a connection line between the gap - arrow A - and the recess - arrow B -, i.e. with a straight edge.

2. Align the bonded rubber bushing so that the upper right tab - 1 - is to the left of the line.

3. The lower left tab - 2 - must be located on the right of the connection line.


• Always make sure that bonded rubber bushings are in correct installation position to bushing of trailing link.

- Install tools as shown in the illustration.

2. Thrust plate (T10230/12) , chamfer must point to bonded rubber bushing

3. Bonded Rubber Bushing

4. Installation device (3372)

5. Thrust Plate (VW 402)


- Press in bonded rubber bushing flush.

- Install mounting bracket on trailing link Trailing Arm with Mounting Bracket, FWD.

- Install trailing link Trailing Arm with Mounting Bracket, FWD.
