Transverse Link, Tie Rod AWD






Overview: Transverse Link, Tie Rod AWD

The - arrow - points in driving direction.






1 Eccentric Screw

Perform a vehicle alignment after loosening. Refer to => [ Vehicle Alignment Procedure ] Vehicle Alignment Procedure

do not turn more than 90° right or left (that is smallest to largest possible adjustment)

2 Nut

95 Nm

M12 x 1.5

Self-locking

when adjusting, can be loosened and tightened up to 5 times

Always replace if removed.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position. Refer to => [ Rear Axle in Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.

3 Eccentric Washer

Inner bore with tab

4 Eccentric Screw

Perform a vehicle alignment after loosening. Refer to => [ Vehicle Alignment Procedure ] Vehicle Alignment Procedure

5 Eccentric Washer

Inner bore with tab

6 Nut

95 Nm

M12 x 1.5

Self-locking

when adjusting, can be loosened and tightened up to 5 times

Always replace if removed.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position. Refer to => [ Rear Axle in Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.

Adjust torque wrench (V.A.G 1332) to 80 Nm when tightening nut.

This tightening specification does only apply in conjunction with insert tool 18 (T10179)

7 Subframe

8 Bolt

90 Nm + 90°

M12 x 1.5 x 125

Always replace if removed.

9 Lower Transverse Link

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Lower Transverse Link, AWD ] Lower Transverse Link, AWD

10 Nut

90 Nm + 90°

Self-locking

Always replace if removed.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position. Refer to => [ Rear Axle in Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.

11 Bolt

M12 x 1.5 x 75

Always replace if removed.

12 Threaded Rivet

M6

13 Expanding Rivet

14 Stone Chip Protection

15 Bolt

8 Nm

M6 x 12

16 Nut

Self-locking

Always replace if removed.

17 Washer

18 Bolt

150 Nm + 90°

M14 x 1.5 x 115

Always replace if removed.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position. Refer to => [ Rear Axle in Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.

19 Washer

20 Upper Transverse Link

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Upper Transverse Link, AWD ] Upper Transverse Link, AWD

21 Washer

22 Nut

Self-locking

Always replace if removed.

23 Wheel Bearing Housing

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Housing, AWD ] Wheel Bearing Housing, AWD

24 Washer

25 Bolt

150 Nm + 90°

M14 x 1.5 x 115

Always replace if removed.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position. Refer to => [ Rear Axle in Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.

26 Tie Rod

There are different versions => [ ] Tie Rods for Trailing Arms, FWD and AWD, Allocation.

closed in direction of travel (the right and left tie rods are different)

Opened downward (the right and left tie rods are the same)

It is possible to interchange

Pay attention to the allocation of the trailing arms when replacing them => [ ] Tie Rods for Trailing Arms, FWD and AWD, Allocation.

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Tie Rod, AWD ] Tie Rod, AWD

27 Bolt

90 Nm + 90°

M12 x 1.5 x 125

Always replace if removed.

28 Bolt

M12 x 1.5 x 95

Always replace if removed.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position. Refer to => [ Rear Axle in Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.

29 Nut

90 Nm + 90°

Self-locking

Always replace if removed.
