Rear Door Panel: Service and Repair






Rear Door Trim

Removing

Removing and installing on the left side of the vehicle is described here. Removing and installing on the right side is identical.

- Switch off the ignition.

- Pry the top part of the grip - 1 - from its mount in the door trim, starting at the top and using the wedge (3409).

- Pull the top part of the grip - 1 - from the top downward out of its retainers and out of the lower mounting - 2 -.






- Remove the two bolts - 1 - (4.5 Nm).

- Remove bolt - 2 - (4.5 Nm).






When loosening the door trim, the mounting elements could be damaged. To prevent this, follow the specified location and sequence for the clip connections to be loosened when removing the door trim.

- Remove the door trim from the brackets, in the - specified sequence shown in illustration -, using the wedge (T10039/1).

When removing the door trim, the angled surface of the wedge (T10039/1) must point toward the door panel.






- Pull the door trim - 1 -, vertically upward out of the window shaft.






- On the inside of the door trim, pull off the securing tab - 1 -.






- Remove the release out of the guide to the rear.

- Remove the release - 2 - from the interior door mechanism.

- Depending on vehicle equipment, disconnect wiring harnesses from door trim.

Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.

Before installing, inspect the securing clips for damage and replace if necessary.

Before installing the door trim, make sure the release mechanisms on all the clips are in the - 1 position -.

It is not possible to install the door trim correctly if the clips are in the - 2 position -.
