Dust and Pollen Filter with Activated Charcoal Insert
• A dust and pollen filter with additional activated charcoal filter insert is installed together with the air quality sensor (G238).
• The filter with activated charcoal insert continues to work as a dust and pollen filter. It can also filter out gaseous pollutants such as ozone, benzene, nitrogen, etc. from the air coming into the vehicle.
• The activated charcoal is designed to absorb the gaseous pollutants in the air flow until the fresh-air door is closed and the air conditioner is operating in recirculated-air mode. The change over from fresh to recirculating mode occurs via the Climatronic Control Module (J255) , as soon as the air quality sensor detects gaseous pollutants in the ambient air (the "automatic recirculating" mode must be selected).
