Sensor Wheel
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) (V.A.G 1331)
• Locking fluid (D 154 100 A1)
Procedure
The contact surface between the crankshaft and sensor wheel must free of oil and grease.
• After tightening the screws for the second time, the point where the heads of the countersunk screws make contact with the sensor wheel become so deformed that the screw heads at the crankshaft - 3 - - arrows - and the sensor wheel lies loosely under the screws.
• Installation of the sensor wheel is only possible in one position, the bore holes are shifted.
- Lightly coat the contact surface between the crankshaft and sensor wheel with liquid locking fluid (D 154 100 A1).
- When installing, make sure that the mark "VR6" - arrow - aligns with the individual threaded hole.
- Tighten all the new screws first hand tight.
- Then tighten the new screw - 1 - to 10 Nm + an additional 90° (1/4) turn.
- Then, tighten the other 2 new screws - 2 - to 10 Nm + an additional 90° (1/4) turn.
