Transmission, Securing to the Engine and Transmission Holder

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Holding Fixture (VW 313)

• Holding Fixture (VW 540)

• Engine and Transmission Holder (VAS 6095)

Perform the following procedure:






• Drain the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF). Refer to => [ Automatic Transmission Fluid, Draining and Filling ] Automatic Transmission Fluid, Draining and Filling.

- Attach the transmission to the holding fixture (VW 540) - arrows -.

- Install the transmission using the shop crane - load cap = 700-1200 KG (VAS 6100) onto the holding fixture (VW 313) or engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095).

The center of gravity of the transmission is outside the center of rotation at the holding fixture. To prevent back swing, a second technician must hold the transmission housing when rotating the transmission on the holding fixture (VW 313).
