Automatic Transmission Fluid, Draining and Filling






Automatic Transmission Fluid, Draining and Filling

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Used Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782)

Drip Tray for VAS 6100 (VAS 6208)

Adapter for Oil Filling (VAS 6262 A)

Adapter for Filling ATF Oil (VAS 6262/2)

Adapter for Oil Filling (VAS 6262/6)

- Turn off the engine.

Place the drip tray for VAS 6100 or the used oil collecting and extracting device (V.A.G 1782) under the transmission.

- Remove the check plug from the transmission pan - arrow -.






- Remove the overflow tube - 1 - from the hole.






- Drain the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF).

- Reinstall the overflow tube.

- Attach the adapter for oil filling (VAS 6262 A) to the oil container. Be sure to read the instructions. Refer to => [ Note the following information: ] Automatic Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Adding.

- Install the ATF filling adapter (VAS 6262/2) to the plug hole hand tight.






- Fill with 3 liters of ATF. Refer to the Parts Catalog.

- Remove the adapter for filling ATF oil (VAS 6262/2) from the ATF pan and install the plug hand tight.

- Move the selector lever into the "P" position.

- Start the engine.

- With the brake pedal pressed, move the selector lever through all the different positions "P, R, N, D, S" at idle, holding it at each position for at least 10 seconds.

- Move the selector lever into the "P" position.

- Check the ATF level. Refer to => [ Automatic Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Adding ] Automatic Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Adding.
