Clutch Pedal






Clutch Pedal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Pliers (T10005)

Assembly Tool (T10178)

Removing

- Move the drivers seat all the way back and raise the steering wheel to its highest position.

- Remove the drivers side foot well cover.

- Remove the bolt - 2 - and remove the left foot well vent - 1 -.






- Remove the bolt - 1 - and the impact bolster support - 2 - before removing the clutch pedal.






- Remove the nut - arrow - and the ground wire from the steering column.






- Press the tabs - arrow - on both sides of the wire guide - 1 - toward the inside and remove the wire guide - 1 - from the steering column.






- Remove the nut - 2 - and the bolt - 5 - and then remove the clutch pedal - 1 - from the mounting bracket - 3 -.






- Swivel the clutch pedal slightly downward and remove the over-center spring - 4 - from the bracket.

- Unlock the clutch pedal from the clutch master cylinder using the pliers (T10005).






- Remove the clutch pedal.

Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Replace the self-locking nuts.

- Attach the mounting - 2 - to the clutch master cylinder actuator rod - 1 -.






- Press the mounting in until it engages audibly in the clutch pedal - 3 - opening.

- Install the over-center spring - 2 - in the bracket from the top. Hold the end of the spring in its installed position using the assembly tool (T10178) when installing the spring.






The mounting area - arrow - for the clutch pedal pivot pin - A - must be positioned vertically.






- Insert the clutch pedal pivot pin - A - into the mounting area of the over-center spring.

- Slightly press the clutch pedal, push the bolt through and tighten the self-locking nut to specification, see - item 16 - in the => [ Clutch Pedal Overview ] Description and Operation.

- Install the impact bolster support - 2 - in front of the clutch pedal and tighten the bolt - 1 - to 20 Nm.






- Install the wire guide - 1 - under the steering column.






The tabs - arrow - on both sides must clip into the steering column.

- Attach the ground wire to the steering column and install the nut - arrow -.






- Install the left foot well vent.

- Install the drivers side foot well cover.

- If disconnected, connect the battery.
